Hi, I want the dxl code to automatically trigger the attached form appearance whenever a new object is created.I am new to DXL Scripts development and need this on a priority basis. Thanks in advance.

Re: Dxl code for trigger to run the attached form on new object creation This will be difficult for me, beyond you. Two steps [1] Get a trigger to fire appropriately; or more specifically prevent it from doing something most of the time. [2] get that trigger to display your dialog. [1] There was previous complicated discussion on how to simulate an object-create trigger. I think you can do so with an post-object-sync trigger and quickly ignoring all objects except for undeleted new onest. This form will display if you select some other object and then re-select the new one. You could find a way to mitigate that; trying to keep track of which object's have already had their form displayed or restricting objects to those with no user attribute values; specifically including Heading and Text. [2] As for the form, get it to run one of the following; which is also tricky.

-Louie Hi, Thanks for your help. Will try and revert. |
Re: Dxl code for trigger to run the attached form on new object creation My advice is to avoid triggers if at all possible. This is especially true if you are new to DXL. Have you considered another approach, such putting a "New Object" menu option? Tony |
